He became the Nobel Prize laureate at the age of 69. Not very enthusiastic about it, he initially rejected the award, though later on, agreed to accept the medal and the diploma (but not the money!). 14 years afterwards, he would find out that he also won an Oscar for the best screenplay.

And for 77 years, G.B. Shaw was the first and the only person in the world to have both these awards in his collection.
