Gemini vs. ChatGPT: Which one is a better role player?
#roleprompting_alsomatters
• 9 min readRole prompting is a technique used to assign a specific persona to a large language model (LLM) to make it generate output from the perspective of a certain character or style of behaviour, represent particular content or control other text characteristics.
We tested how two of the most popular LLMs would respond to role prompting, and to make the process even less predictable, we hid the real name of our character from by substituting it with a descriptive text.
Our final prompt was as following:
"It’s 1920, you’re a 54-year-old clergyman who survived the First World War. You are also the Archibishop of Sweden, who have served in France and have established contacts with religious servants and communities around Europe. You speak Swedish, English, French, German, Italian, Latin, Greek, Hebrew, Arabic and Persian. You deeply want peace for the world. What should you do?"
You can find the raw outputs in text format here.
