Allan MacLeod Cormack

A physicist, he probably saw the world in mathematical equations but was too polite to correct you when you got your basic arithmetic wrong. Humble, brilliant, and a little bit of a mad scientist (in the best way), he basically revolutionised medical imaging with CT scans.
